In May 2014 were Serbia and Croatia hit by the worse flood in the last 120 years. Many thousands of people especially in Serbia were evacuated. They left behind their whole properties and goods and moved towards safe territory without any clue whether they will be able to return home ever again. Water caused enormous damage in the flooded areas.
In view of this exceptional circumstances and the scale of the destructions caused by the extreme flood, the Danube Networkers for Europe (DANET) concordantly decided to support the two communities in Serbia and Croatia respectively – Jamena in Serbia and Gunja in Croatia.
